Road Safety
As many of you will have seen, this week we sent home our new permission form to enable our Class 4 children to independently walk to and from School.
We took some time out this week to discuss the importance of road safety and in particular, we discussed Witheridge specific issues. The children brainstormed some wonderful ideas and discussed potential hazards regarding electric cars, farm vehicles, weather, holiday traffic, tiredness behind the wheel and narrow paths. When the rain eventually cleared, we were able to head outside and the children were tasked with independently crossing the main road via the pedestrian crossing and the connecting side road down towards Butts Close. I am pleased to report that all of our Class 4 children showed a sensible attitude and crossed the roads with an appropriate level of caution. Keep it up Class 4!
