KS2 Football Tournament at Witheridge
On Monday, we hosted a TEAM football tournament at Witheridge which presented our Year 6’s with one final opportunity to represent the school.
They certainly didn’t disappoint.
After a shaky start, the girls improved in each game and topped the tournament off with a 4-0 win which secured 3rd place for them overall. A special mention is owed to Paige, Sophia and Lexi who stepped up from Year 3&4 and did an incredible job against some very talented girls with a significant size advantage.
The boys slipped to an early defeat at the hands of Beaford which presented the Football team with their first loss of the season. However, they dug in and showed resilience in true Witheridge fashion to win their remaining games and secure a 2nd place finish.
I am so proud of our footballers and it’s truly been a pleasure to watch them all grow from the sidelines this season. League winners and tournament runners up isn’t a bad way to finish a season, congratulations all who contributed throughout the year!
Up the Withy!
