Farm School at Essebeare
Our first group of Reception children to go to Farm School this year, had a fantastic morning on Wednesday. We met Farmer Ollie's sheep and cows and the children were delighted to be able to feed them. We spent some time thinking about why these animals live on the farm and learning about the process of how the sheep's fleece can be made into woolly hats similar to those we were wearing! Farmer Ollie helped us to learn about the importance of sharing his farmland with nature, and we visited the meadow to discover a range of different seeds. The children managed to remain quiet enough to see the birds feeding on the seeds, and on the way back, we were rewarded by a beautiful ariel display by a flock of starlings. The children behaved very well and are already looking forward to their next opportunity to attend Farm School. Thank you, as always, to Farmer Ollie, Well done Reception!
