Class 4 Bristol Trip
Bristol trip
On Wednesday (2nd), Class 4 took a long jaunt up the M5 for a trip to Bristol to find out more about how the city was involved in the trans-atlantic slave trade. Our first activity was a guided tour around the city where we learned about how the statue of Edward Colston was felled due to his involvement in the slave trade. The children asked interesting questions and showed curiosity throughout the whole morning. After a short lunch break, we headed into the John Wesley New Room to learn more about his work. John Wesley had a significant impact on the abolishment of the slave trade and it was interesting to see all sides of history. To finish the day the children were challenged to find different artefacts in the museum which helped us to unlock more interesting information from that time. The tour guide and museum staff commented on how wonderful Class 4's behaviour was and I was incredibly proud of how they represented the school throughout the day.
