We are continuing to promote our healthy eating within our school. Over the last three weeks class 3 have had the opportunity to make a delicious fresh tomato sauce to top cooked pasta . The children all learnt to use the utensils safely while while working in small groups.

During the last half term the year 5 children had the opportunity to make and enjoy delicious healthy meals while improving on their cooking skills. The children soon discovered that healthy food is very tasty. The young budding chefs made Ratatouille with bruschetta, homemade pizza from dough to toppings and finished with chilli salad bowls ( the pupil’s favourite dish )

Cooking news from Mrs Milton
This half term I have had the absolute pleasure of working with a group of year 6 children on improving their cooking skills and encouraging them to try new things.
We started off with a tried and tested great recipe of chilli salad bowls. The group were really pleased with the delicious meal they had prepared. We followed this by producing our own home made pizzas.Making their our pizza dough and fresh tomato sauce.
During our final session the group worked in pairs and made their own pancakes with fresh fruit.
I was blown away by the groups enthusiasm and positive attitude towards trying new flavours while thinking about producing healthy meals.

On Tuesday morning I had the absolute pleasure of working with a group of year 6 children on improving their cooking skills and encouraging them to try new things.
We started our session with a tried and tested great recipe of chilli salad bowls. The group were really pleased with the delicious meal they had prepared and everyone finished the whole dish.
We followed this by producing our own home made pizzas, making their our pizza dough and fresh tomato sauce and finishing them with a variety of different toppings.
I hope the children continue with their cooking skills in the next chapter of their story.
